Born in İstanbul, after completing the primary school, she enrolled in Instrument Training Program in ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory. She received classes for reed from Salih Bilgin & Niyazi Sayın, for solfege and theoretics from Erol Sayan & Doğan Dikmen and for western music from Ali Eral. In 1996, she enrolled in high education on Instrument Traning and completed it 2000.

She completed her master thesis “An advice on 4 Year Bachelor Studies for Reed in Turkish Music Conservatories” in Haliç University.

She took part in concerts both domestic & abroad (France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, Egypt, Bosnia Herzeginova, Azarbeijan, Switzerland, Japan, India, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Oman and Dubai) with various communities, orchestras and musical chambers since her school years.

In 1996, she started to receive Ebru classes which is a Traditional Turkish Art frım Fuat Başar & Tulay Taşlacıoğlu. In 1998, she started to teach reed classes in Caferaga Madrasa operating under Turkish Music Service Foundation. Until 2012, she raised multiple pupils.

The opus which has written by Fazıl Say, performed by Burcu Karadağ, Aykut Köselerli and Hakan Güngör with Borusan Phillarmony Orchestra has relased in CD form and won the ECHO Special Award.

In 2004, she started to teach classes as reed training lecturer in Haliç University. She worked together with prominent artists such as Fazıl Say, Tuluğ Tırpan, Sertab Erener, Trilok Gurtu, Martin Grubinger, Rudiger Oppermann, Angelika Akbar, İhsan Özgen, Önder Focan and Okay Temiz. She played under Cemil Reşit Rey Turkish Music Ensemble between the years 2005-2007.

On March 2012, she played as soloist fort he World premier of the Fazıl Say’s Hezarfen Reed Concerto in Mannheim, Germany. In 2012, She represented Turkey in flute festival held in New Delhi, India.

In 2013, She released the first ever reed album by a woman reed player called NEYZEN that consisting of the selected works of the Classical Turkish Music as well as Fazıl Say’s the Hezarfen Reed Concerto’s publications in CD & DVD formats.

In 2013, her book, “MEŞKTE NEY EĞİTİMİ” telling on reed training got published by Pan Publishing.

On March 2019, fusing together the Jazz approach and traditional Anatolian melodies revived by Burcu Karadağ’s wind, “Ney in Ethno Jazz” under “Y Kultur Sanat” label. Being forwarded as the first product of the Karadağ’s Project, “Ney in Ethno Jazz” album worked as a melting pot for modern jazz tones and fundamentel melodies of various anatolian localities that centered reed as a solo instrument and expressed local melodies along with fusion jazz elements.

The artist still continues to teach in Haliç University as well as working together with various music ensembles and other artists and work with her master Ayla Makas on Ebru classes.
